Excel Capital Management publishes business-funding guidance, financial education, calculators, government-form guides, and product information. These standards describe how we research, write, review, update, and disclose that content.
Purpose and scope
These standards apply to Excel Capital Management’s educational articles, product pages, calculators, comparisons, guides, and other editorial material. Sales communications, individual offers, provider agreements, and customer-specific underwriting decisions may follow separate operational and legal requirements.
Our content is educational. It is not legal, tax, accounting, investment, or individualized credit advice. Readers should review final agreements and consult qualified professionals when a decision requires specialized advice.
Editorial responsibilities
Writers
Writers are responsible for accurately representing sources, separating facts from estimates, explaining assumptions, and disclosing material uncertainty.
Editors
Editors review clarity, structure, consistency, sourcing, disclosures, and whether claims are supported by the page and available evidence.
Subject-matter reviewers
Specialized reviewers may be used for complex funding, tax, credit, underwriting, or regulatory topics. A named reviewer should be shown only when that review actually occurred.
Author and editor profiles describe relevant experience so readers can evaluate the people behind the guidance. Visit our leadership and editorial team.
Research and sourcing
We prefer primary sources. Depending on the topic, those may include government agencies, official forms and instructions, provider disclosures, contracts, program guides, direct provider confirmation, and information encountered through Excel’s ordinary brokerage operations.
- Government-form articles should link to the current official form, instructions, and relevant agency guidance.
- Rates, fees, terms, and qualification standards should identify whether they are published ranges, illustrative examples, or terms observed in actual offers.
- Secondary sources may provide context, but they should not replace a stronger primary source when one is available.
- Anonymous or unverified claims should be qualified or omitted.
Accuracy, calculations, and financial terms
We aim to explain the full economic structure of a financing product, not only the most attractive advertised number. Relevant coverage may include APR, interest or factor rate, payment frequency, term, origination or underwriting fees, draw fees, prepayment terms, collateral, personal guarantees, and renewal mechanics.
Calculators and examples should state their assumptions. Outputs are estimates and may not match a provider’s final disclosures. We do not describe a factor rate or monthly rate as an APR unless the conversion is supportable and the assumptions are clear.
Updates and freshness
Rates, programs, forms, laws, and provider requirements can change. We review high-traffic and time-sensitive pages on a recurring basis and update sooner when a material change is identified. A last-updated date should reflect a meaningful content review or revision, not a cosmetic edit.
Publication and modification dates in structured data should be consistent with the page’s actual history. We do not change dates merely to make content appear newer.
Corrections
Credible correction requests are evaluated against authoritative sources. Material factual errors are corrected once verified, and significant corrections may be explained on the page. Minor spelling, formatting, and clarity edits may be made without a correction note. See our corrections and reader feedback policy.
Commercial relationships and editorial independence
Excel Capital Management may receive compensation from funding providers and other commercial partners. Commercial teams may supply documentation, identify a program change, or suggest a topic. They may not require a positive conclusion or override a supported editorial finding.
Sponsored content, paid placements, and material referral relationships should be labeled. Product availability through Excel does not mean that every market option has been reviewed or included. Read our ownership, funding and advertising disclosure.
Structured data and search features
Structured data should match visible content and accurately identify the page, article, organization, author, and other supported entities. We do not add self-serving review-star markup to Excel’s own customer reviews, invent product ratings, or mark hidden content solely to pursue a search enhancement.
Reader feedback
Questions about these standards, a source, a disclosure, or a possible correction can be sent to info@excelcapmanagement.com. Please include the page URL and enough detail for the issue to be reviewed.
